The Day of Visionary

This day 15/12/2011 was very special to me in my life while i am doing B-Tech at Karunya University, Which has shown the visionary in me by the grace of God.The day was started as usual as any other day in my life like getting up very late in the morning and rushing up at the critical time to get to the university on time for the morning assembly to save my attendance for the morning session. It was combined assembly filled with all the 5000+ students except the 1st years due to the presence of the chancellor in the university. The message given by him 'How to love other people especially our neighbors, more than loving our-self to please god?' was wonderful and moved my heart. Then i went to class with friends and was about to start my project work, At that moment suddenly one of our faculty called me and said that i have to attend a meeting with our registrar in her conference hall representing our department and i was little puzzled at that time because i left my class representative post a long ago and i am no longer delegating that job also but i have got to go.

First i went alone and i was little embarrassed about it because i was all alone but later some of other coordinators and representatives from my department joined me. After some ages spending at the reception of administrative block the final year people representatives from all departments were called in to the conference hall after our juniors left the hall. Until that moment i have no idea about what i am going to discuss inside except the few hints given by a mechanical friend of mine that we are going to discuss about the problems we are facing with the current academic policies followed at our university. As we went inside i was surprised to see all the important officials of our university like The chancellor, vice chancellor, registrar, students director and trustee who involved in academic board. Yet an another embarrassing moment awaited me because i was the first person to get in there so i have to occupy the seats which are more close to the officials and my position was like face to face with the chancellor, oh my god. Then we were asked to introduce ourselves to our chancellor with our placement details and i made that with little bit excitement as i got an opportunity to meet our chancellor and thank god i got placement already.

The meeting started and we were expected to give our suggestions regarding any change that we are expect to have in the current academic policy. My mechanical friend started first and he was thanking chancellor for the change that was made in their department syllabus as the effect of the last meeting and they went on discussing about current placement, and at that moment i got an idea or a vision in my mind about starting a new academic club. I have not gained that courage mentally to start the conversation about my idea but a small battle was going on between my mind and heart within me to get the courage. Suddenly a second of silence, and our chancellor called out my name and said 'Vignesh, tell me?' on seeing my face, ohh god at that moment i thought 'He must be a true men of god or he must be a great psychiatrist'. Thank god i got the courage and i started to tell my idea of creating a Software and Project Development Club which fosters the entrepreneurial skills and creativity of students which can act as 'incubators of innovation' with the inter disciplinary collaboration for our university students. Our chancellor appreciated me and there were mixed comments from all the officials like vice chancellor and registrar even it may take some long ages for the implementation, But i have sowed the seed for it now by the pure grace of god and i am happy for it because i realized the visionary within me.

The other funny part i learned from this meeting is we should not forget our blazer for a meeting like this and i was literally shivering by the cold breeze from the air conditioner in the conference hall.In this matter our juniors were more thoughtful as they all wore their blazers but we seniors were not and our fate was to bear the terrible cold until we get out.
